How We Build

  1. The home building process begins with the selection of the vacant lot. This is the VERY most important aspect of the process. We find the lot whether it is level on a creek or a steeper view lot and customize the house plan to fit that particular lot.
  2. Next we begin the grading for the house site and install the septic tank.  This is very important to insure the house is turned just right to take full advantage of the view and also maintain a gentle driveway.
  3. The process continues with pouring footers (minimum of 2ft. wide & 1ft. deep with ½ rebar). We use all poured walls (minimum of 8in. thick).
  4. We then do all the plumbing in the basement and prepare to pour the concrete slab. We use 4in. of gravel & 4in. of concrete on the slab.
  5. It is now time to begin the framing. We encourage homeowners to be here for this process.  Often times our past customers like to make subtle changes and this is the best and lest expensive way to do so.
  6. Once framing is completed we install roofing (shingles or metal), doors and windows, and then the siding. Depending on the style of home we use wood, Hardy, or we often use a combination of the two to create a craftsman style home. This completes the dried-in stage.
  7. We then move ahead to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC stages.  Homeowners can walk through the house and tell us exactly where each switch, fan, vent, and faucet is to be installed.
  8. Next we install the insulation. Our homes are very energy efficient and are well insulated.
  9. Once the insulation is complete we hang the sheetrock.
  10. Once the sheetrock is finished we install any wood on the ceilings or walls. We then install the tile and hardwood and begin the trim work. Our finishing details set us apart from most other builders. We have built several high-end homes because the customer looked at the trim work and finish detail on our low-end homes and it is better quality than most million-dollar lake homes.
  11. Once trim is completed we do all the painting and are ready for cabinets.  All of our cabinets are true wood custom cabinets designed any way you like. We offer a near endless selection of granite to complement the beautiful cabinets.
  12. We are nearing compltion. The last stages include plumbers, electricians, and heating & air subcontractors testing everything to ensure everything works. We do a thorough cleaning, hand you the certificate of occupancy, and you are ready to move in.
